Grey Matters

We hear a lot about cancer but did you know more children die from brain cancer than any other disease?  This is quite shocking but tragically true.

We are told to look after our brains, feed our brains with good nutrition, sleep, rest, positive thoughts and to stretch our brains so we can learn beyond our wildest dreams.  It is our own personal computer within our body!  It’s alarming then that brain cancer research is historically one of the poorest funded.

We invite you to participate in ‘Grey Matters’ by selecting a date in May/June to either wear a crazy hat/beanie or something Silver or Grey with a gold coin donation going towards Brain Cancer Research at the Neurosurgical Research Foundation (NRF).

'In 2015 my life changed when I was diagnosed with a low grade brain tumour. Surgery, radiation and chemotherapy followed, and at this stage I’m thankfully in good health. My aim of this campaign is to spread awareness, raise funds and highlight the importance of brain health.  Since being diagnosed I have become aware of the lack of funding for brain cancer research.  I have met well-known brain cancer awareness campaigner and celebrity Carrie Bickmore and promised myself I would make a difference and spread awareness, if not for me, my children, their friends and families.'
